Tim Alexander is a former Detective Captain with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in Mays Landing, New Jersey, where he led the Criminal Investigation Section. His journey into law enforcement was catalyzed by a deeply unsettling experience of being racially profiled by the police. It was his grandfather who, recognizing the systemic issues within the police force, encouraged Tim to join law enforcement to instigate meaningful change from within. Taking this advice to heart, Tim dedicated his career to transforming the relationship between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

He focused on innovative projects that offered alternative solutions to community issues, aiming to rebuild and enhance public trust in the police. His commitment to justice didn’t stop at the state lines; Tim also served as a Major Trials Prosecutor for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he was an active member of the Philadelphia Youth Aid Panel, further extending his impact on community relations.

Eventually, Tim transitioned from government service to private practice, bringing his wealth of experience to his current role as “Of Counsel” for Helmer, Conley & Kasselman, P.A., where he specializes in civil rights matters. His multifaceted career, deeply influenced by personal experiences and family guidance, has equipped him with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our legal system today.
